Hunger Strike --- Deeply Concerned!!!
Day 14 of Hunger Strike
Filed under: General — gufssa @ 5:42 pm
Seven people continue the hunger strike at Gallaudet University. One person has stepped out due to deteriorating vision (she has ushers syndrome).
The others have stopped drinking nutritional supplements, such as V8 juice in a statement that they are increasingly distressed by the lack of responsiveness by the University administration.
To this day, Dr. Jordan and Dr. Fernandes have not once come out to see the group or contacted them for a meeting.
On Monday, October 30th, several of the hunger strikers will stop fluids alltogether if Dr. Fernandes is still in office.
We as a community are deeply concerned. At least one of the hunger strikers is making a statement that he will not stop, even if it results in the loss of his life.
We are distraught that the University continues to display poor leadership skills- to the point that they seem inhumane.
